I have read every Viking book by this author and have loved each one. This book is no exception. While there is ample heat and romance, the author weaves a tale that will have you feeling as if you are experiencing the sights and smells right along with the characters. The words bring history to life, and while I would like to avoid the marauding Vikings, Mathias and his crew of men would be more than welcome to land on my shores. Well written and enjoyable 5-star read.

Prejudice towards all vikings for but the actions of a few causes mistrust between a young woman and a group of vikings who have washed up on shore. All is not as it seems in this story of love, loss and hope.

★★★★★ Annabelle @ Amazon.com “Another wonderful Viking tale” on February 18, 2018
I so enjoy Ashe Barker’s Viking tales, always eagerly awaiting the next and never disappointed. Once again, Ms. Barker provides a fascinating historical background to an emotional, engrossing story. Mathios was a wonderful hero. Kind and compassionate, yet unequivocally a dominant male who punished when needed, but never cruelly or arbitrarily. His love story with Merewyn is a slow burn based on the building of trust. There’s no rush to the HEA. The romance and passion evolves in such a way that you journey along with the characters. I was entranced right until the end and wanted more. Altogether a very satisfying read! I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy.
