I loved this book. For me the mark of a successful book is if I am still thinking about it long after I’ve read it, and I have to say that I believe this will be one of those books. This may be a domestic discipline book, but the strong male lead does not in any way diminish his feisty heroine. Instead they form a partnership that is stronger because of his leadership and her strength. The characters came alive to me and told me their story in a way that kept me turning pages long after I should have been asleep. Excellent read.

I really enjoyed this book! I got hooked from the very beginning and found myself turning page after page until the end. There is a great story here in a historical setting and is written very well. The book offers a very detailed believable plot, strong characters (I loved Winnie), suspense, drama and romance. Great book!!

A very good book. I frequently read books of this era, but never before one that included race relations. I highly recommend it.

  1. I loved this book! When you stay up to finish a book until 3am when you could just as easily have finished it the next day, it is a great book! Adam and Winnie are two wonderful people who both grow into a relationship neither one thought would ever happen. There are spankings, love and caring throughout the book. There are two more characters who are also in the book who are just as fun to read about. I gave this book 5 stars and is one I will enjoy reading again!
